How can I remove soap scum build-up from basket/tub of washing machine (Kenmore Model 11027642600)?

Washer is 3+ years old. Soap scum has built up on tub and basket. It comes free during washing cycle and deposits itself on items being washed.

Having soap scum in a washer machine can be a disappointment. I found a question in Manage My Life that was similar to the one you asked. The answer from the expert are instructions on how to take the soap scum out from your washer. While your waiting on an expert answer, I'm attaching the link below, I hope this is helpful!!!!!!!

I can understand wanting to clean the scum building on the inner wall of the outer tub. In order to access this area will require removing the washer cabinet and tub cover.

NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your washer.

I added an image below with the instructions on how to remove the washer cabinet. Note: The image of the console will look different than yours but the procedure is the same. Once you have the washer cabinet taken off, remove the tub cover by prying all the locking tabs outwards and then lift the tub cover off. You now have access to the scum. I recommend using a flat plastic ruler to scrap the scum off and then wipe the inner tub clean.
