I have a Kenmore Coldspot Refrigerator- model #57572791. The water dispenser has not worked in years but began dripping today. The water is coming out of the spout. I have played with the trigger, but it won't shut off. Is there a way to turn the water off at the fridge? What can I can do to fix it?

There is no way to turn the water off in the refrigerator. To stop the water from running you will have to turn off the valve on the incoming line from the house plumbing. This will stop the icemaker from working. Be sure to lift the sensing arm on the icemaker to prevent it from trying to make ice without water. To correct the problem you will have to replace the water valve on the back of the refrigerator cabinet. The water line from the house attaches to the water valve. The part number of the water valve is 2188542, and the price is $65.95. You can order the water valve at [partsdirect.com?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch].
