Sony wega 50 inch tv takes a very long time to turn on

My sony television model KF-50WE610 takes a very long time to turn on. The sound is heard but the picture does not come on right away. The light in the from cycles from red flashing to green flashing to off. What can be the problem?

It seems like your lamp is ageing and needs to be replaced. The lamp part number is A1606034A, but unfortunately it cannot be ordered from Sears at this time. The lamp is fairly simple to replace. The bottom front cover would need to be pulled off which would exposed the lamp door. Open the lamp door and remove the lamp. Lamps are typically held in place by one screw. When replacing the lamp. Make sure the has been off for a while because it does get

HOT

and could burn you. After replacing the lamp the lamp door must be put back on before the set will come on.

There should be a club for all the people out there with this problem. I attached two web sites with information and the third link is the owner's manual. Page 98 has the blinking code explanation and troubleshooting is on page 92. Hope something here helps. If not, an option is to have an expert technician repair the set for you if you visit searshomeservices.com/televisions/repair.
