i have a ge profile side by side refrigerator and the icemaker freezes up

i have a model# PS123SCRGSV Profile side by side refrigerator and the icemaker keeps freezing up.

I'm sorry you are having this problem. However, I'm not sure what you mean by the icemaker is freezing up. If it's overfilling and ice is sticking together or if the icemaker is just not harvesting, the ice, in the mold.

If it's overfilling, the problem will be with the icemaker itself or the water valve. This icemaker regulates the water fill with a thermistor and if it fails, the icemaker will need to be replaced.

If the icemaker is not harvesting the ice, it could be due to the temperature in the freezer, if it’s not cold enough. The temperature should be between zero and five degrees. If it gets above 5 degrees the icemaker will slow down and above 10 degrees, the icemaker may not cycle at all. To check the temperature, place a thermometer between some packages. Air temperature is
