Which wires do I connect to power cord if the power cord is one color? Smooth to white or to black on a new kenmore dishwasher?

Kenmore Elite dishwasher has a white and a black wire. My power cord is a solid grey. The middle is the ground and there is one wire that has a smooth casing and one that is ribbed. Which one do connect to what? The instructions do not reference this at all.

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you with wiring the power cord. The ribbed side of the cord connects to the white wire. The black wire connects to the smooth side of the cord. Here is a tip, after you screw on the wire nuts warp the wires and the nut with electrical tape. It will keep the wire nut from coming loose from the vibration of the dishwasher.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
