Snow Blower Craftsman 247.88791 Will only run with full Choke on

Bought my SNow Blower last year. Ran great. I had some gas left in the tank all offseason. I drained it out and put in some brand new gas with Stabil gas treatment in it. The Blower starts right up but once I try to turn the choke down It runs erratically for 10 seconds or so and then stalls. I actually cleared my entire driveway with the choke all the way on. So it's working, but I'm afraid that something is wrong with it because it stalls off of choke. ANy suggestions??

Thank you for your question.

I a sorry you are having problems with your snow blower. By what you have stated I suspect the carburetor needs to be cleaned. When fuel is left the carburetor over the summer, it will break down and plug the passages. To clean the carburetor you have to disassemble it and flush all of the passages with carb cleaner and clean the holes with a bread tie wire. Then reassemble the carb and test the operation. If you still have a problem, I recommend replacing the carburetor. Make sure to always use a fuel stabilizer in the gas before storage. That should keep the engine running correctly.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
