Arbee: You will not find the surface element receptacles at any hardware store. If you have an appliance repair center nearby, they would likely have the receptacles specific for your model. The part number of the receptacle is 422893. I also recommend taking the model number with you.

Thanks very much. You are right about the location of the screws. I will try that tomorrow. Can you tell me if the sockets that the elements plug into are universal (can be obtained at local hardware store) or do they have to be ordered from Sears. If so, is a part number available for them. Russ

Thanks for replying with the model number. It appears there are screws under the front lip of the main top to remove. Open the door and look up under the front of the top and you should see several screws to remove. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the range before raising the top.

Thank you for your question and I understand your situation. There are several different types of Kenmore electric ranges and different means of fastening the top that I would need to have the model number in order to provide the model specific instructions.

Reply with the model number for model specific instructions.

Having to work on the Stove can be quite a challenge. While you are waiting for an expert to reply I recommend to reply back to this thread with a detailed model number to your Stove. Which this will allow you to get a detailed answer from an expert.
