JUST BOUGHT A CRAFSTSMAN SNOW THROWER MODEL 247.88780 I CAN NOT REMOVE THE SCEWS FROM CHUTE BASE TO ATTACH THE CHUTE . ANY SUGGESTIONS

I have no reports of this being any issue. The screws were likely put in by a machine and are just screwed in very tight. If the screws are Phillips head type screws, put the screwdriver in the screw and then pop the end of the handle with a hammer to see if that will help "break" the hold on the screw. If the screws are hex head type screws, do the same thing but with a socket instead of a screwdriver.

I'm sorry that you are having difficulties attaching the chute to you snow thrower. I did some research for you at managemylife.com and found an expert answer to a similar question that may assist you until your expert can respond. I have attached the link below. I know it's a different model # but it may be similar enough to help. If you do not have an owners manual, you can down load it at managemylife.com.
