forgot code to keypad for garage door

I have changed my keypad code & I can't remember it. Craftsman Garage Door Opener

model # 139.53978SRT... I have tried every code I can think of... How can I reset it? Please help... Thanks Angela

No cause of alarm, you are not the only one that has forgotten the pass code to the garage door opener. I was able to find an expert specking upon how to reset the code. Hopefully you'll have the door open in no time.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to change the code for security reasons, and I am sorry that you cannot remember what you set it too.

You will need a ladder to clear the memory on the unit.

On the back of the motor unit you will need to push and hold the learn button until the little l.e.d. light goes out.

Then you can push the button but do not hold and you have 30 seconds to get down the ladder and program the 4 digit keyless code and push the enter button.

The motor unit work light should flash once as it accepts the code. Do the same for the hand held remotes.
