no water in Kenmore elite refrigerator but ice

My kenmore elite refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom, gaves ice but the water has stopped coming out.
model 795.77563600 serial number 703KR00717. I had it since January 2008, I have changed the filter once and about to change it again. I removed the filter and still no water. It makes the noise of the motor of the water pump running but no water.

I'm sorry you are having this problem. If you can hear a buzzing noise when the actuator is pressed, it indicates that one of the valves is getting energized. There is a valve behind the unit and one in the door. If the noise is coming from the back of the unit, the valve in the door will need to be checked, to see if it’s opening. The reservoir and water valve are located inside the left refrigerator door (see 615A and 619B in picture). Remove the cover plate to access these parts. Now disconnect the water line from the water valve. I'm attaching a picture that explains how this fitting works. With the line loose, now activate the dispenser and if water does not come out of the valve but it is buzzing, the valve # 5220JB2008A will need to be replaced. If nothing happens, some voltage checks will need to be made. A technician may be needed to make these checks. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website:

Sears Home Services

. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further.

Having one of the options not working on the refrigerator can be a tad bit frustrating. That is good to hear that you are keeping with the instructions in replacing the filter. I placed the Owner's Manual for you that would provide you with the steps that are necessary when replacing the filter.
