model 88830 snow blower leaking gas

I purcashed this maching on line and picked it up at my local Sears (Dulles, VA) on October 18th. Put it away for first snow. When the snow fell I gassed it up to find that the gas cap leaks. Seems to be a common thing with this model... Called Sears customer service and they sent me a new cap. When at angle, like working through the end of the driveway, gas pours out the top.. It is not filled over the red plastic thing that hangs in tank. I called sears this customer service rep apologized saying this unit has a "primer pump" issue and they will send me the parts and schedule the repair. Repair was scheduled for last Thursday AM and they called to cancel in the PM on Thrusday because of the snow. Yes, I sat around all day waiting... Well they rescheduled for this Friday and I told them about the leaking gas cap and "primer pump" parts. Then I came across this site and read about the screen part #951-10652 so I called back asking that the tech bring this part with him/her for this weeks call. The CSR wanted to transfer me to the parts line so I could order it. I explained again and he noted it on my service call notes. I anticipate another wated day when the tech shows up without the part.. With this in mind I went by the local Sears store yesterday. Spoke with sales person saying I am not happy with this machine/. Feel that this leak/engine made in China is a bad omen. Anyway, the rep on the floor asked if I had bought the extended warranty? I reminded him that this machine has a two year warranty. His reply was that this is against manufacturers defects. And the extended warrnaty covers more? Anyway - I wanted to just return this machine and the store rep said no can do through them. I'd have to work this out with the Repair Service Center. I'd really like to get rid of this machine in exchange for the new 30" Craftsman model. Can you help? My serial # is 1G200810493 Could have bought this same machine through Lowes with easy return.

I am understanding your frustration over the situation that it is on hand in regards to the snow blower, ext. My best suggestion would be is to locate the number to the store locality of where you purchased the equipment. Provide them with detailed information on what you have been going throw and what you would like to be done. I hope that they will be willing to help you.
