How do you reset a 1-1/4 Brinks brass padlock with a 4 dial combination?

Besides cutting it off. The lock is locking access to a cabinet. Is it possible to reset the lock while it is locked?

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to get into a lock that you have forgotten the combination.

I am afraid that you can not reset it without it being open first.

The only way that I know of to reset or change the number of the combination is to be able to open the lock first and turn the hasp.

I am sorry that I cannot help you further. You might contact Brinks to find out if there is a way.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

I found a fix on Youtube that unlocked my Brinks 4 number dial lock. Here's the link. I guess you'll have to copy and paste the address in your browser. It took me a couple of tries but all you need is a bobby pin.

Thank you Kat. I guess I will not be buying this padlock anytime soon.

If it is that easy to get into what’s the point of the lock.

I have added that to my favorites.
