Is my Kenmore sewing machine horizontal or vertical?

I have a Kenmore sewing machine model # 385.18221. No where in the owners manual does it say that my machine is horizontal or vertical. And, everyone I have talked to has never heard of machines as being one or the other. I find this very frustrating. I need a roller foot for my machine. This would have been very simple if a roller foot was listed in the accessories section of my manual, but it is not. I called the number listed inside my manual to order the part. They could not help me either. Who can?

Thank you for your question.

I will be glad to help you and I apologize that you could not find this roller foot earlier.

What they are referring to when they say vertical or horizontal, they are talking about how the bobbin case and bobbin sit in the machine.

Since yours is a drop-in bobbin it would be considered a horizontal shuttle because the bobbin lays flat.

The roller foot for your machine is part number: 200028103 and you can order it from:

Sears Parts Direct

.

I should be about $8.00 plus shipping.

If you are looking for other accessories I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thanks, but sears.com is where the frustration began. I found the part, but don't know whether to order one for a horizontal machine or a vertical machine.
