I am so sorry that your machine will not give you nice stitches when free motion stitching.

I would suggest setting the machine back for regular sewing with the feed dogs back up and balancing the upper and lower tensions so you get a good looking stitch and then try it again. If you have done free motion stitching before, I can understand your frustration because you have had success in the past. But if you are doing this for the first time it took my wife a good day of practice before she would even attempt a stippling free motion stitching on her quilting project.

I wish you well.

Moving fast or slow does'nt seem to matter in that the stitches are terrible because the tension is all wrong. the bottom side of fabric has huge loops. I've tried adjusting the tension.. please help...
Yep, I'm using the darning foot.

I forgot to ask you if you are using the darning foot that the machine came with.

Thank you for the update. There are no special mode settings to do free motion sewing.

You just use a straight stitch setting (01) and drop the feed dogs. It will take some practice to get the pace of how fast you move the material and how fast you pushing the foot control. If the machine will sew a good stitch normally it will not change for free motion stitching. It just takes practice. I would suggest that you have a practice piece to work with.

I know how to drop the feed dog on my machine, that is NOT what I'm asking. I specifically need to know what mode to set machine to because the tension doesnt cooperate in regular straight stitch mode.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to know how to free motion stitch.

You do not have to have a special mode for free motions stitching.

Reach behind the shuttle and the back side of the machine and flip the lever to manual drop the feed dogs.

I am going to assume you are going use the straight stitch mode for free motion stitching so just set the machine to straight stitch setting which would be 01.

I hope this information helps and if you have any other questions please use the thread link and I will be happy to help you.

P.S. after you are done doing free motion stitching reset the feed dog lever.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

I HAVE AN OWNERS MANUAL! I need to know what mode would be best in order to be able to do free motion stitching on my machine. EVERY MACHINE has this capability, I need you to help me figure out how to best do this on my machine.

The first place that I would recommend you check is your owners manual. If you do not have your I was able to locate it here on the Manage My Life website. I attached the link below if you are interested in viewing. I hope the link that I provided is helpful.
