Thank you for choosing Manage My Life. Several different factors play into one's life expectancy. Some scientist dispute that life longevity has nothing to do with the way one has lived but in the DNA that you carry. One thing is for certain, a general awareness of a healthy life style will literally be the difference between life and death.

At 85, males have a higher risk of health problems hindering there performance regardless of race. Eating right and keeping active will certainly prevent these issues. It is proven that Seniors who exercise, live longer and have better quality of life. Of course the region you live in can affect this some however, your body has to wonderful ability to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings.

Also, more Seniors are living past their 80's, 90's and beyond. Great sites like

focus on activities for the mind, body and soul. A balanced life will definitely keep you moving longer and for already hitting 85, I say your doing great. Keep it up!

There is no definitive answer to the question 'what is the life expectancy of an 85 year old white male'.
According to a Harvard stud, an 85 year old male on average can live to about 91, but, like the expert above listed, there are many, many factors that come into play regarding life expectancy.
