Dishwasher holding water

My dishwasher a undercounter Kenmore Ultrawash model #665.16798792 has always held a small amount of water in bottom all the time is this normal?

This can be a tricky question because the will be a small amount of water left behind to keep the seals wet.

The water should not cover the bottom of the tub.

One thing you can do is to remove the filters and get into the sump of the dishwasher to check the drain impeller.

You can clean the filters and check the impeller for this problem.

This dishwasher also has a "check valve" 675238 that might have failed. The check valve is located on the side of the pump with the drain hose hooked to it. It is suppose to prevent water from reentering the tub after the drain pump stops.
