jenn-air wall oven repair

The display light which shows the time and oven temperature has become very dim-very hard to read. Is this repairable? Is this something we can repair ourselves? What kind of cost are we looking at for parts to repair this problem? My jenn-air wall oven is old. Model# JJW8527AAB Serial#10100229WS. We have no owners manual as the prior homeowners did not supply us with one.

I understand that your Jenn-air wall ovens display is becoming very dim. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below for you to view. I hope the link that I provided is helpful.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom the electronic oven control/clock assembly will need to be replaced.

The oven control/clock assembly is part #71003424 which will cost approximately $201.71 and the service fee which includes the labor is approximately $130.00.

To access the oven control board:

Disconnect the oven from the power supply

Open the door as wide as possible.

Remove the four screws along the bottom of control panel.

Grasp the control panel by placing both hands on the right and left sides of the panel, lift up and out to disengage the upper flange.

Slide the upper oven rack out and place the control panel on top of the oven rack. (Cover oven rack with a cloth to prevent scratching.)

Remove the screws securing the oven control board to remove.

Transfer one wire at a time from the old to the new control board.

Reverse the procedure to re-install and to re-assemble the control panel.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website:
