have an kenmore elite coldspot side by side, model #106.54606300 quit cooling on both sides,

fridge & freezer quit working but can hear clicking noise like motor, compressor is trying to start. all lights and displays work. water from dispenser but does not make ice. model # 106.54606300
we moved, at one house worked great, moved to new house,worked for about 5 minutes , will not cool! just that fast, no warning signs.
Help, and I am very new...talk to me like i am a 2 year old

I'm sorry you are having this problem. The information you have received from Pvalde is good but this appears to be a different problem.

This clicking sound from under the unit indicates that either the starting device (# 16 in picture) on the compressor has failed or the compressor. A technician normally has a kit that he can attach to the compressor, along with an amp probe that will help determine which part has failed. Without the kit and meter there is no way to know for sure. In this case, a chance can be taken and replace the starting device # 2319792 and capacitor # 2169373. These parts are available at

. If the compressor still won’t start or starts but then quits again, the compressor will need to be replaced. If it runs ok now, the start device was the problem. I hope this will help you.
