Removing aluminium foil from oven

I have a kenmore electric cooktop even. I was trying to protect the oven by lining the racks and the bottom of the oven with alumimium foil. Unfortunately, the foil got stuck to the bottom of the oven. I have tried everything to remove it without success. Please advice. Thanks.

Having foil melt in the oven sounds like an inconvenience and I know how important it is to have a clean oven so that you can cook your baked goods. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with some good tips to help you with your oven problem. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to reduce the clean up time and work by putting foil in the oven.

The manufacture does not recommend putting foil on the racks and our on the oven bottom. In most cases they state that in the owner’s manual.

By putting foil on the racks it will affect the natural air flow in the oven and effect baking results.

There is not a good or easy way to remove melted in foil onto the oven bottom.

On some, but not all models it is easier to replace the oven bottom. Your model would have to have a removable oven bottom to replace.

The foil melts into the finish in the bottom of the oven and there is not good or easy way to remove it.

You can us a plastic scraper and try to remove the parts that are not completely melted.

If you will give me your model number I will be able to tell you if the bottom on your oven is removable.

Thank you for giving the model number.
This oven has a replacement oven bottom. The part number is: 316505601 for about $69.00 and you can purchase if from: [Sears Parts Direct | searspartsdirect.com?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch] .

To replace it remove the oven racks from the oven, locate and remove the chrome finished thumb screws in the back of the oven bottom and then lift up and pull to the back to release the panel from the front lip of the oven frame.

To install the new one tuck the front in first and then let the panel down and tighten the thumb screws.

I hope this will help.
