How to change the temperature setting in the Kenmore Elite Range stove from Centigrade to Fahrenheit?

We have a Kenmore Elite Electric Range slide-in model stove C970 series. My father in law by accident brushed by it and changed the temperature seeting from degrees F to C. We want to change back the settings to F degrees but don't know how to do it. There is nothing mentioned in the manual we have about the temperature settings and how to change them. I would appreciate if you would let us know how to do it.

Thanks

So we manged to change the settings using the following instructions from the internet:

instructions for General Electric, Hotpoint and RCA
1 .Press the "Broil" and "Bake" buttons at the same time. The letters "SF" will appear on the display.

2. Press the "Cook Time" and "Broil" buttons at the same time. The letter "F" will appear on the display. If the letter "C" appears on the display, press the "Cook Time" and "Broil" buttons at the same time once again.

3. Press the "Start" button to save your settings.

Now, the problem is that everytime we click on Bake it sets the deafualt start temperature to 550 degrees when before it was 350. We would like to change the default temperature to 350. It is still 350 for other baking functions, like Conv Bake, Conv Roast, Preheat but not the regular Bake.

You seem to indicate that you got the display changed properly in your above response. According to the partial model number that you provided (C970), this appears to be a Canadian model. The normal procedure for changing the display from Centigrade to Fahrenheit on the common types of that range is shown in the image below. There are many different models that begin with C970 (or 970). I did not see a procedure like the one that you described that the C970 ranges. There is a possibility that you changed a default setting for the bake mode when you pressed the keys in that order that you described. Without a full model number, I don't have access to specific technical information for that range. Even if you can provide a full model number, the information that we have on Canadian models is limited. We can try to find the information that we need once we have that model number.

I recommend that you reply with full model number of your Kenmore Elite range and we will try to assist you further.

NOTE: There is a chance that you can unplug the range for 5 minutes and then plug it back in to restore the default settings on the clock control board. I recommend that you try that first. It may work.

Thanks for providing that model number. I provided the procedure for switching from Centigrade to Fahrenheit on that range in the image below (according to the American version of that control). That procedure may work on your Canadian range.
