how do rebuild the motor on a craftsman leaf blower?

hello, i have a craftsman leaf blower model 358.797180 that will not start. i have tested for spark and it is good, i am almost positive it is getting gas, and the compression seems to be low at 30 psi. i would like to know what all may cause the compression to be low? my guess is it has bad gaskets. i would also like to know if i can get detailed instructions on rebuilding the motor with torque specs and all?

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the blower. If the blower has low compression, you need to replace the piston and cylinder kit. I have marked the parts needed in the image below. I wish I could provide you with all the repair information on the blower but the manufacture does not have a repair manual available. We usually find most customer decide to purchase a new blower because the cost of the repair exceeds the value. Before you decide to repair the blower, I recommend taking it apart and inspecting the seals and the bearings. If they look worn, I recommend ordering then as well. It is better to replace them while you have it apart instead of finding out you need them later. i hope this helpful.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the repair of the blower.

Here is a link to order any parts you need.
