Washer is leaking from the bottom.

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

I have a Kenmore model number 110.26422500 which is almost 5 years old. Lately it has been leaking from the bottom and I believe this is during the last spin cycle. I have looked for a manual on how to trouble shoot this as the use and care guide does not go in to details. The hoses appear to be ok, no leaks and each of the is connected properly. How do I check the pump or some other issue?
Thank You.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

In order to locate the source of the leak will require removing the washer cabinet. The drain pump is usually the one leaking water. If water appears to be leaking from the front center area then it's likely the drain pump leaking.

I added a YouTube video showing how to

access and replace

the drain pump. It will also show how to remove the washer cabinet so you can inspect all the other possible area of where water can leak. Note: If the tub happens to be leaning too far forwards when filling with water, water entering the tub can hit the top of the tub ring and splash water onto the floor.

NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your washer.
