Glad to hear that you got the panel fixed. If the hinges at the bottom of the door are squeaking due to metal rubbing against metal, you can normally fix that type of noise by lubricating the hinges with some oil or silicone lubricant. If you have some 3 in 1 oil, that type will work. You could also use a small amount of cooking oil (such as Canola oil) to quiet that type of squeak. If the springs for the hinges are making noise, you will probably need to replace those components to fix this problem. If necessary, you can shut off the circuit breaker and water supply to the dishwasher then pull it out to isolate the cause of the squeak. Let me know if you need more help with that problem.

Thanks Lyle, the operation was successful. I removed the brushed stainless steel panel that had minor cross grain abrasions and took it to a machine shop that does deburring. They belt sanded and brushed it and it looks like new. $40 sure beats paying $400 to replace it. One more new question. The door at the lower hinges squeaked before but now it is really loud. It started getting louder after I removed the panel and moved it. Any thoughts on how to quite it down?

According to the parts diagram, this appears to have a console with the buttons on the very top of the door.

You can view the parts diagram for the door panel and other components on the

Sears PartsDirect

website. This parts diagram should help you remove that front panel along with your observation of the dishwasher.

Shut off the circuit breaker

for the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power. You will see screws in the inner door panel that attach the console and front panel to that component. Remove the screws in that inner door panel to release the console and the front door panel. You may need to transfer the handle and the nameplate to the new panel. Reassemble the dishwasher in reverse order.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.
