Need to connect a hose to my Kenmore 54701 dehumidifier...

Have part with hose connection on one end (I think) and smaller end of tube with no connection. It will not go straight in hole in back of unit and has a tab with an arrow that points down. Where does the blooming tube go so that the water will drain out of the unit through a hose rather than having to empty the tank?

Sorry, We get a little backed up over holidays. I believe there is an improve hose connector to fix this problem. The part number is 5214a20027a. The connector is available from the following link:

I've been through the online manual and have blown up the diagrams but the tube can't be pushed through to the elbow because the "L" pice at the hose end of the tube will not alow it. I habe tried it with the back iece pointed up, down, and eveery other direcction you can think of. It worked great for years but I took it apart last year to store it and now i can't get it back together for anything.

I believe the image below may help you with this project.

You should have a drain tube that a garden hose will attach to.

If you're missing the tube reply to me and we'll see if there is a plan "B".

I know how important it is to have this working properly. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I have found a link that will provide the instructions for installing the drain hose. The image at the bottom will give the step by step instructions. I hope this will help you.
