Craftsman gas hedge trimmer blades don't move

Engine works great, blades don't move.

Yard tools get a workout during most of the year. Occasionally they need some TLC. While you wait for the expert you can check the online owner's manual for troubleshooting help if you like. I attached the link below. I also added the link at Sears Home Services if you wish to take the trimmer in for service.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the hedge trimmer. Two things will cause the blade not to move. They are the clutch drum and the drive gear. I have provided you with an image below that shows the two parts. The gear is in red and the clutch is blue. I recommend taking the trimmer apart and checking the teeth on both of theses parts. if the teeth are worn off you have found the problem.

I wish I could have provided you better instructions on how the trimmer comes apart but the manufacture does not offer a service manual.
