Old Craftsman bagger for a new Craftsman Mower

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

I have an old craftsman bagger #917.249491 and would like to know what

i need to do to retro fit it to my new craftsman 21hp 46"deck. I'm thinking that all I will need to changed out is the lower chute part #405455(new part) with the (old part) #126839. Is this an option, I'm trying not to buy a whole new bagger, when the old one works fine.

PS love the new mower. after 18 years it was time to replace the old standby.

Most likely replacing the lower chute will work just fine. I cannot find the chute diameter to know if it will match the upper part or not, but it should. If it does not, you will need to replace the upper chute as well.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

When looking to replace a part on your appliance I know how important it is to have the correct part so that it will fit just rite. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your appliance model number and a parts list diagram will pop up. I hope my link is useful.
