what do i need to do to stop white smoke from coming out of my lawnmower?

I have a Sears Craftsman Lawn Mower 675 Series, model# 917.376470. We bought it new just about 3 years ago.

I know how important it is to have a good working Mower in your home so that you can keep your grass maintained. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a few links that will provide you with some good information about what may be causing your problem.

Check the oil level to make sure it is not overfilled. If that looks good then there is a good chance that the crankcase breather is stuck open and allowing oil to be pushed into the carburetor. The only other thing that would cause a lot of white smoke would be if the rings are bad.

If the oil is overfilled make sure it does not smell like gas. If it does let me know and I'll tell you what to do to correct this situation.
