why is my dishwasher not running through the wash cycle?

when i start my dishwasher it will fill up with the water and then it will stop and do nothing after it fills up with the water. What is wrong with my dishwasher why is it not going through the wash cycle?

I am sorry to hear you are having a problem with the dishwasher. A number of different failures could cause the problem. If you happen to have a volt ohmmeter and feel comfortable making live voltage checks I will gladly assist you diagnosing the problem. Please remember to include a model number in the reply. More details would also be helpful in diagnosing the problem. Especially if the unit will drain when you push the cancel button and any other noise the dishwasher is making.
