How do I replace the door panel on a spacesaver microwave?

I have a microwave part number is JVM 1631 WJ01. The door panel is cracked near the handle. This does not affect the operation of the microwave but I want to replace it. The part number for this door panel is WB55X10655, part # 4 on the website http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/GE-Parts/Microwave-Parts/Model-JVM1631WJ01/0432/0123370/G0508302/00001?blt=06&prst=0&shdMod=JVM1631WJ01

If I purchase this part, it looks like I will have to take the handle off, take off the old panel and snap the old on one. 1) WIll this part come with instructions on how to do this? If not 2) How do I replace the door panel on this particular microwave? Thanks Dennis

The instructions for removing and installing the door panel in the expert answer in the link provided below, should help you. I

do not

recommend that you attempt this repair if you are not an experienced technician. Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. They contain

high voltage

internal component that can retain a

lethal electrical

charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. A microwave shielding leakage test

must

be performed on the unit using proper testing equipment following any internal component access or repair before the microwave can safely be returned to service. The door has essential shielding components that must be assembled properly.

I know it seems ridiculous to pay someone for such an easy repair but when it comes to the safety of you and your family, it is worth it. You can have the microwave repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website to set up service:

Sears Home Services
