oil leak

i have a 2003 chevy s-10 xtreme extended cab.. 2.2 liter engine.. i have notice lately small dark puddles of oil coming from under truck.. mostly located towards the front of truck.. i have put oil in and when i give it gas needle moves to right registering "full".. then when im at stop light , needle is on (0) zero as if there is NO oil in truck.. whats going on? and how much labor cost im looking at?

Sounds like you have two different things happening with your vehicle at the same time.The gauge that is on your dash is actually oil pressure. It will fluctuate slightly with engine rpm. To check it you will need an oil pressure test. Usually under $100.

As far as the oil leak check the oil cooler lines which are notorious for leaking.
