Kenmore Elite Dishwasher (665.16469300) Sensing Mode

by RYAN MOORE Last activity date:

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher (665.16469300) appears to be stuck in Sensing mode. After running diagnostics, I believe it is the pressure switch (p/n 8542575) stuck

I have this same model of dishwasher. It seems to be getting water. I am not sure how much water actually is required by this unit but when you open the door you can clearly see that there is water in the tub. Then the dishwasher goes into SENSING MODE and does not come out of that mode on its own. The dishwasher can be placed into RINSE mode and all appears to be normal.

From the description about I suspect you have a console/interface problem. The console may have a stuck or shorted keypad. You might try accessing the ribbon and checking the connections. Remember to turn the power off first. The image below will help you with this.

The images below show how to enter the test and what happens in the test.

Also see if you can run a Rinse Only cycle. This is the simplest cycle there is. The dishwasher should fill, wash and drain in about 12 minutes.

Hi I also have this brand. The connect in the control panel burned out and we replaced the control panel. The diswasher worked for week then I think it stopped mid cycle.

We thought the thermister was gone and replaced it. No go.

I can run the diagnostic cycle but the tech sheet is not with the dishwasher so I can not tell what is trying to indicate.

right now none of the cycle light when I press them. If I press cancel it starts to drain. If I press start normal wash lights up, sensing lights and then it flashes from drying to delay 4hrs

When I hit cancel the washing light comes on and I can here water draining into the sink
the delay 4hrs stays lited up.

You don't provide a lot of details about the problem your having but the pressure switch can be check for continuity across the circuit.

The contact from the orange/gray wire to the white white should be open. When it closes there should be a purge.

The pressure switch can be obtained from the following link:
