Kenmore Dryer Model 417.88042700 No Heat and Blinking Lights

The dryer is about 5 years old and this is the first issue we have had. The dryer will run for a few minutes (but never heats up), stops, beeps and all of the lights on the right side of the panel blink constantly. I have unplugged the dryer for a few minutes and plugged it back in. That didn't work.

From what I have found online, it seems that a new Thermistor (part # 134587700) is the answer. Am I on the right track? Is this an easy part to replace?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I understand that your Kenmore dryer has no heat and the lights are blinking. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below for you to view. I hope the link that I provided is helpful. Have a nice day.

From the description you give the thermistor is the likely cause of the problem.

The lights blinking are trying to tell us the error code.

The image below will tell you how to read the blinks and determine the error code generated by the control.

The other two images tell about the thermistor and how to remove the lower panel to access it. It can be checked for resistance if a meter is available. If there is no meter then it would be worth a shot to replace it for the problem you have.
