Chain saw cord won't pull

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

My gas Craftsman chain saw #358.350462, 16" rope/cord will not pull. I put it on ground while still running and a minute later it automatically cut off. Now I can't get the cord to budge. Help!

Pull back the hand guard handle that sticks up to the right side of the saw. It sounds like the chain brake sprung and has the saw locked up.

If that does not change anything let me know and we'll see if we can come up with something that may be causing this.
