LG model # WM2016CW When on spin cycle makes clunking noise and is having shredded pieces of plastic? or something in the filter. Also smells like burning rubber when spinning. Inside drum wobbles alot during spin cycle. This is a front load washer 3-5 years old. any help in figuring this out would be helpful. Thank You, Michelle Greenough

LG model # WM2016CW front load washing machine. I also have the same problem as Michelle as mentioned above. Wobbly, noisy spin cycle with a burning like smell with blueish, gray plastic remnants in the bottom filter. My machine is 3.75 years old so both labor and parts warranty periods are expired. Will call LG to find what the dollar damage will be to fix this washing machine.

Hi Michelle,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

The spin basket inside the washer drum should spin true. It should not wobble or have any play. This could be causing the vibration that you are describing. You could have a problem with the stainless steel drum or the bearings on the back of the outer washer drum. If the washer is less than a year old, this failure should be covered by the warranty. If it is over a year old, some parts of the washer should still be covered. The spin basket has a lifetime parts warranty according to your owner's manual. You would have to pay for labor if it needs to be replaced. Here is a link for your owner's manual in case you need it:

Owner's Manual

. I recommend that you call LG and have a service technician diagnose and repair the washer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website:

Sears Home Services

.

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram and for parts purchases;

Sears Parts Direct

.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
