Kenmore Elite Oasis washer

model # 110-27042603

Serial # CU0870238

10 minutes after starting the wash, we get the OL (over load) light and the machine stops. The machine is bypassing the wash cycle. If we start it at drain and spin, it completes the cycle but the clothes were never washed. What is causing this? Could the electric panel of the machine be off? The washer is only 3 years old and has never had this problem. Why is it doing this?

Thank you,

The oL error code indicates that the machine control board detects a load size that exceeds the washer's capacity OR that the basket cannot disengage. This is most likely caused by mechanical friction on the drive mechanism that is not allowing the basket to disengage. Check to see if the washer if filling properly. Make sure that the drain hose is properly installed to prevent siphoning of fill water. The stand pipe or sink height must be at least 39" high. If you are draining the washer to a floor drain you should be using a siphon break. See if the spin basket inside the tub spins freely. You may need to unplug the washer and remove the spin basket as shown in this

. Check for an item or obstruction between the basket and the tub that could be causing this problem.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website:
