Air Compressor Trouble Shooting

Sears Model number 921 153101 (SN 706848) compressor, builds up to 25 psi, continues to run but will not build any pressure beyond 25 psi - no blow by at pressure relief valve or anwhere else. Please advise as to what can be done to correct this issue and part(s) to be replaced.

Thank you for your question as to why the air compressor only builds pressure up to 25psi and keeps running and never meets its target pressure of 125 psi to shut off.

Please start the compressor and put you hand over the air intake manifold to see if you can feel any air coming out of the intake.

If you do then the reeds on the reed plate are not sealing tightly and will need to be replaced.

If you do not feel any air coming out of the air intake then the rings on the piston are not sealing and are not able to build pressure.

Please let me know what you find out and we can continue to troubleshoot with that information.
