Craftsman Chain Saw Model Number 358.341170

There does not seem to be enough thread on the bolt to put the cover on the chain saw when replacing the blade/chain. The bolt cloeset to the end of the blade (the shorter one) is not going on as it should with the cover on the unit. There is nothing in the way, the area is clean, and there is no visable sign of why it will not fit. Looking for step by step information to fix the unit, any images would be helpful.

Thank you for your question as to why the bar cover will not fit onto the saw.

Check to see if the bar adjustment pin is not in the bar hole for the pin.

You may have to adjust the bar adjustment on the inside of the cover before assembling to the retainer bolts.

If you move the bar back and forth you may get the adjustment pin to fall into the hole on the bar.

I am sorry but I do not have any pictures of that area other than the parts break down which does not show the adjuster on the outer cover.

Please let me know what you have found.
