problem with metal racks in kenmore elite range

I have a kenmore elite double oven electric range purchased in 2008 - all of a sudden the racks inside the oven started to fall thru - I was wondering if you ever heard of oven racks shrinking or maybe the oven walls expanded or maybe there was a part that fell off that held the racks up what do uou think

There have been a few issues with oven liners expanding causing the oven racks to fall. If you will reply on this thread and include the model number of your range, I will check to see if there have been issues with your range.

Richard, we don't have any reports of excessive problems with the oven on model 790.98023800 range. I suggest you go to

Sears Service

and get a Sears technician to diagnose the problem. The technician can advise you on how to get some help on the repair from Sears.

I too have this model of oven and have the exact issue. When searching on line this seems to be a very common issue. With that I have recently contacted Consumer Product Safety Commission. They have asked that all individuals that have this issue to please fill out a report. It will take about 10 minutes and they let you upload photos also. Go to CPSC.gov and on the upper left corner there is a "report an unsafe product."
Hopefully this will help us in some way. Thank you.
