Weider pro 4250 cable instruction problem

I am putting my 4250 Weider pro home gym. the cable seems to be short that it will not reach the weight stack. I followed and verify the cable instruction close but i still do not find my error. Do you have any suggestion of what i need to do next?

Thanks,

Paul

I have the same problem! We have removed and installed all cables exactly as stated in the instructions and compared the pictures I've seen here and everything seems to be fine. Only problem is the cable will not reach the weights. This gym was disassembled partially and moved to another location so most of it was still intact. I will try turning the press handles around as well. Hope this works! Just wondering if there are any other issues that could cause this problem. Thanks!

Turn your press handles around. That should fix your problem.

I appreciate the photos. I sure can't see where the problem is though. Do you have all the bolts tight on the machine? I only ask because when I moved our machine I didn't tighten everything up right away and the cable was too short to reach because of it. It was not immediately obvious what was causing it. My machine is a little bit different but the cable situation is kind of similar.

If everything is tight then the only other thing I can recommend is to take the cable all the way off and start back at step for and start the "assembly" process from the beginning. I hate to even suggest you contact a technician to come out for this because of the cost involved.

Wade, thanks for your answer so far. The machne was bought from Sear years ago. I take off and measured all 5 cables and they are match the specification on page 26 of the user manual. It is about 10 inches to a foot shorted. i attached few more picutures for you research. Thanks a bunch.

Well it looks like you have the cable installed exactly as they say it should be installed. How much short is it from being able to work? Did you have this assembled before or is it a new machine? Is the machine's other "long" cable fitting fine or is there a chance that maybe it's a little bit too long? I ask because this cable should be 22.5feet and the other cable (the other long one) should be 21ft 1inch. Maybe they were mixed up.

I hate to have you do this, but can you measure the cable in question?
If this is a new purchase you may want to contact Sears Home Services and have a technician come out on this. Generally when I run across this it's because the cable was put on wrong, but your photos show that you did it correctly.

Look at my attached drawing. The area that's highlighted is where this problem is usually caused at. If the cable is not routed exactly as shown then the cable will turn up too short to reach the weights as it should. The real problem with this is that the cable can be routed wrong and it will look right and everything will function just as it should other than the cable that attaches to the weights won't be long enough.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
