Sears Garage Door opener model 139.53918D. .

Sears Garage door opener model 139.53918D. Does not close consistently in cold weather. I have to hold the wall button to close. The light blinks and I have checked the sensors. They are ok both lit properly, no blockages at all. What's the fix? Thanks.

Typically this would be caused by a problem with the sensors or a failure with the logic board. If you're sure the sensors are not blinking or flickering when this happens then it will have to be the logic board. Often times the cold temperatures will cause the logic board to flex a little bit. When the board flexes a solder joint will crack and cause the problem. When it warms back up the board flexes back to normal and the problem is no longer happening. This flexing of the board is miniscule and not something you can readily see.

Double check the sensors and make sure they are not flickering and if that looks okay then you will need to go

with the model number and get a new logic board.
