Panasonic Plasma tv problem, no power

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

I have a Panasonic TC-P42G10 plasma TV that stopped working. The power light blinks 5 times which I understand is a diagnostic of the problem. Can you tell me what the problem is and what it will cost to fix, more or less?

The 5 blink code is a 5 volt error. The problem could be one of 6 parts and would require a technician to troubleshoot to determine which part is needed. They would have to order the part and come back to repair it.

I saw some references that 5 blinks indicates a problem with the "5v SOS D Board". What will that take to fix? $100, $500, $1,000 ??? Will I have to wait for 2 weeks before it gets fixed? or is this something that the technician can fix in one visit?
