recoding Craftsman garage door opener 139.53779

How do I change the code on a garage door opener? I recently got rid of a care that had the code programmed in so now I want to reprogram my system. I took the remote apart and there is no way to set a code.

If you look on the back panel of the opener you will see the "learn" button. Press and hold down the "learn" button until the LED next to it goes out. This will clear all the codes stored in the system.

Now to program in what you have: Press and release the "learn" button and within 30 seconds, press and hold the remote button. Continue to hold the remote button until the lights on the opener blink. You can do this for each additional remote you have.

The garage door is an appliance that is used almost daily so I know its importance is major. I did some research for you at Managemylife.com and found the owners manual and an excellent article that also has multiple expert answers at the bottom of the web page that addresses the most common questions that have been asked by other members. I hope this will help until your expert can answer your specific question. I attached the link below.
