Why isn't my Maytag Neptune washer not draining completely?

I have a Maytag Neptune stacked washer/dryer and the washer will not always drain. Can someone tell me what the problem might be?

I'm glad you've got it spinning again! You're correct. If the drain pump has not completely given out it will work on and off. Its glitchy. I recommend replacing the pump.

Just an update........I double checked the re-installation of the pump and it seemed as though a blue wire had come loose. I'm not sure if it happened when I was removing the front panel or it just came off while in the spinning process. Anyway, now....it is spinning but not draining. So.....my question is.......if the drain pump was faulty would it work every now and then or not work at all.

Thanks for your help so far.

Hi,
The pump is hooked into place, the hoses are attached and not leaking, the wires are: left, double white and right black.
Could it be anything else?

Double check your re-installation of the drain pump. You're drain pump is connected directly to your motor and if not installated properly, it may be affecting the final spin.

Hi Again,
Ok we cleaned the pump and drain hose. Thanks for your help but now it seem as though it's draining but not spining correctly. The first couple of washes we did, it worked fine. Then I put a lot of towels and it is not spinning out right. I took some towels out thinking it might be the weight, but it still does not spin properly. Can you help?

Thank you for the model number. You're washer only has one pump which is the drain pump, part number 22003059 priced at $75.73. I recommend accessing the front panel and checking the drain pump for blockage & other problems first. I have provided you with access, testing and replacement instructions in the image below. Remember to _disconnect power_ to the washer before attempting access and use _extreme caution_ when and if checking voltage. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: [Sears Home Services|searshomeservices.com] . _SAFETY NOTICE:_ Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

Without a model number I'm unable to provide you with model and part specific information. In general, the Maytag Neptune washer has a drain pump and a recirculation pump. The drain pump is the one that will have the drain hose connected to it. Below is an image showing the drain pump and recirculation pump. The drain pump impeller could be damaged causing the lack of water flow through the pump and out the drain hose, which will cause it not to drain completely. I hope this information has assisted you. Thank you for choosing Manage My Life.

Washers and Dryers are appliances that we use on daily bases so having it mess up can be really concerning. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, a suggestion I have is to add model number to this thread so you can get a better answer from the experts. I have attached the link below so you can add model number to thread. Have a nice day!
