Kenmore washer 11021102010 Lock light keeps flashing red (but doesn't lock), clicking noise, fill light green & washer won't fill. Washer is only 4 months out of warranty! Is this designed to go out so soon, so customer has to call repair man?!

Hello Kelly. Try pressing the Stop button to reset the control. If that does not work, I recommend that you shut off the house circuit breakers for the range to completely disconnect electrical power. That may reset that control. Leave the breakers off for 5 minutes. Reset the breakers and see if the range is still trying to lock the oven door. You may need to try to disable the oven control lock as shown in the first image below. I added a link below for the full owner's manual on that range. If you can reset that control and/or prevent the control from trying to lock that oven door, then you may be able to use the oven normally. That clicking noise probably indicates that the range is trying to lock the oven door. You may need to replace that oven door lock. You may need to replace that oven door lock mechanism and/or the electronic oven control board. You can order parts from this page:

Kenmore Range Model 790.46709600 Parts

. Be sure that you SHUT OFF THE HOUSE CIRCUIT BREAKERS for the range before accessing and replacing internal components. The second image below shows how to open that console and access components in that range. This information may help you fix that problem with your range. If you need more help, let us know. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine and repair the range, you can schedule service through this link:

I am having the same issue but with a Kenmore electric range/ stove. It has a red lock indicator flashing and is making a clicking noise repeatedly. Model #790-46709600. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Test #8 on page 18 is the third image that I provided above. That diagnostic test mode (shown in that 1st image) is difficult to enter on that machine. Your symptoms indicate that the lid lock assembly is getting power but that it is apparently not locking the lid. Replacing that component will probably fix this problem.

Forgot to mention mine does not have the display screen, if that helps with anything.

Thanks,

I tried the things you suggested. First, I did the activating the service mode. I tried it a few times because I didn't know if my 6 sec. timing was off. :)... Nothing happened at all, no lights, nothing. So I went to the manual test mode & did the steps for it. When I pressed the start button, the same thing that has been happening, happened... Green/fill light stays on (no flashing.) and the red/lock light flashes. There is a intermittent clicking sound coming from the area that seems to be under where the red/fill light is. Washer does not lock or fill or anything. After about a minute or a min & half, the red light goes off and clicking stops. Green/fill light stays on. After about another minute or a min & half, I get disgusted and turn it off... I did see under the manual test mode that are in the box thing where it says in the box labeled "Lid Lock" that it says if it won't lock or unlock "go to TEST #8, Lid Lock pg. 18", but I do not see anything like that in any of the pages you've sent... did I miss it? Anything else to try? I figured a Kenmore would last longer than a year and 4 months before it started having trouble! I only do about3 or 4 loads a week so it's not like I even use it a whole lot. I didn't want one with a push button start, but it was all they have now... More suggestions please?

That first link for a previous answer that Alina F. posted in the above response shows how to enter the diagnostic test mode. I added that procedure below this response as well. I recommend that you enter that test mode and check that door lock assembly. If it does not operate properly in the test mode, you can use the troubleshooting shown in the 3rd image. The 4th image shows how to access the control board in the console. Be sure that you

unplug the washer

before accessing internal components.

If you need parts, you can order them from the

Sears PartsDirect

website.

This information may help you fix this washer failure on your own. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link:
