Troubleshooting dryer problems can be difficult. Trying to get the laundry done with this problem would be tiresome. I located a similar question that may help while you wait for the expert response. I would recommend adding the complete model number to help the expert provide the best answer possible. Just click reply and add the additonal information. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

As Barbara suggested in the first response, adding the model number would be necessary in order to provide model specific troubleshooting assistance.

If the dryer stops in mid cycle and will not restart until it sits and cools, the motor is likely overheating and shutting off by the built in thermal overload inside the motor. The motor could also be over heating if the motor is covered in a thin layer of lint.

If the venting system is restricted or the vent hose has too many bends, it can cause the dryer to take longer to dry. If it's a gas dryer, it could have weak solenoid coils on the gas valve preventing the burner from igniting at times.

So that's what I can tell you at this point. I can give you more detailed help if you could provide me with the complete model number. The model numbers are typically located somewhere around the drum opening. If you could supply me with that information I will be happy to assist you further.
