My Kenmore Front Load Washer Model 417-44052401 won't start, but its lights go on. Can I fix it myself?

My Kenmore Front Load Washer Model 417-44052401 won't start. I push all the settings, which then light up as usual. When I push "Start", the green light blinks on and off, but machine motor won't start. Usually it takes about 15 seconds after pushing "start" before any action, but now it just keeps blinking and blinking. I've unplugged and replugged it several times; no go. Is there anything I can do, besides calling for repair appointment?

When a washer malfunctions it can be a stressful ordeal when your having to run to the laundry mat. Especially if you have things to worry about other than laundry. I was able to find a diagnostic test for your specific model. An error code may appear that may help you diagnose your washers issue. I attached the link below. After running the diagnostic test you could add to this thread with any further comments or concerns. This will help the expert follow up. I hope the links provided assist you.

Hi Cindy,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

Your washer is most likely showing you an error code. The first thing I recommend is checking for error codes. The error codes are extremely important in the diagnosis of this type of washer. This washer has a way to recall error codes. If the control detects a problem it will identify it with an error code. I am including this information in a set of images below.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website;

Sears Home Services

.

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or purchase any parts needed for your

Kenmore model number 417.44052401 washer

.

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed.
