grass bag I purchased is to small for my model of lawnmower

I purchased a grass bag 22510010 Part #410666 and a frame Part #194642. On Order #W225677. When I received them I tried them onto my Craftsman Lawn mower Model 917.388860 ser. # 020205M 009370 and they are to narrow. The bag you sent me is 13 1/2" wide and my lawn mower measures 15 1/2"wide. The part numbers match the ones I found on your diagram when ordering.

am still researching to find if the numbers in the system are correct. The original numbers for the bag and frame are 188812 Bag and 188813 frame but these numbers sub directly to the numbers you ordered.

I will try to get more answers on Friday the 27th.

Through my inquiries on trying to find out if the smaller bag is correct for my mower and not a mistake brought me to this website somehow and I appreciate you guys trying to help. Your the big guns who are here to help with hard questions. I need to go to Sears now that I have found the bag is suppose to be right and see how they have theirs hanging on the craftsman mower. Thanks again and signing off.

Thanks for getting back to me on my question. I did go back to Sears Direct through email and they checked numbers for me and confirmed I purchased the right parts for my mower and directed me to Chat. I chatted with a rep and he also confirmed the numbers and told me the 13 1/2" bag and frame should fit. He gave me a the link to this website in hopes I could get my answer here. Everything seems to be correct as far as purchase so it must be the way I am trying to mount it on the mower. I just haven't figured out how to stretch 13 1/2" to 15 1/2". There is a pin on either side where I think the bag is suppose go over so I'll try and lengthen them. Thanks again.

Thank you for your question on the ordered bagger parts too small for your mower.

You are right in that you have the correct part numbers for the bagger and bagger frame for your mower.

I would look for the part numbers on the packaging to see if you actually received those part numbers.

It is possible that there was either a parts picking error or a stocking bin error. It also is possible that the vendor has packed the wrong size parts in the correct parts bags.

I would contact Sears Parts Direct and with the part order number W225677 tell them the size you received and the size you need so they can do a bin check of the parts.

I apologize that you received the wrong parts for your mower but I think you will be able resolve it by contacting Sears Parts Direct.

I am still researching to find if the numbers in the system are correct. The original numbers for the bag and frame are 188812 Bag and 188813 frame but these numbers sub directly to the numbers you ordered.

I will try to get more answers on Friday the 27th.

I am sorry that you are having some difficulties installing a part on your mower. I did some research and I was able to find a link in where you can enter the model number of your mower and a parts list diagram will pop up to guide you with your project. I hope this helps while you wait for your expert response.
