Control panel removal for a Kenmore Elite he4 dryer

I have a Kenmore Elite he 4 dryer that has stopped working. The model number is 110.85872401. We are trying to get the control panel off to see if there is a short somewhere back there. How do you properly remove the control panel without breaking anything on the dryer?

That first link for a previous answer that Joseph P. posted in the above response has an illustrated procedure for removing that control panel on an HE4 dryer. Be sure that you

unplug the dryer

before accessing internal components. That should be the information that you need to check the wiring and look for a short. If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
