DEHUMIDIFIER AUTO SETTING & AUTOMODE
BRAND---KENMORE MOD. # 58054501081
WAS REPAIRED YESTERDAY. RECEIVED INFO NOTE TO SET @ 454%; AUTO MODE ONLY PULL DOWN
50% FAN ON HIGH. I HAVE USED SETTING OF 35% ON AUTO IN PAST WITH FAN ON LOW WITH CYCLE
SET FOR 3 HRS. UNIT IS IN BASEMENT WHERE WHERE HUMIDITY IS HIGH.
IF IT IS SET ON 45-50% WILL THIS LEAVE A HIGH CONTENT OF MOISTURE PRESENT IN BASEMENT
(WHICH WILL CAUSE A MOLDY SMELL IN THE CRAWL SPACE NEARBY)???? IS SETTING OF 45% REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR THE UNJIT TO OPERATE CORRECTLY? A DRAIN HOSE IS NOT USED SINCE
FLOOR DRAIN IS LOCATED ON OTHER SIDE OF BASEMENT FLOOR & DEGREE OF SLOPE IS NOT
SUFFICIENT TO MOVE WATER TO DRAIN.
ON OTHER SIDE OF BASEMENT FLOOR.

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the moisture level. Normally 50% is a good normal humidity level. Basically, your level of comfort needs to be considered in addition to the humidity. In most cases, the 45 to 50% setting will work fine. If there still appears to be some moisture left, then it can be adjusted to a lower setting.
