Kenmore Elite icemaker not making ice cubes

I have Kenmore Elite model number 795.75549401 refrigerator with french door (bottom door) freezer. the problem is with the ice maker which is mounted inside the freezer. it is not making any ice cubes, it does turn green but it makes one big block of ice, no ice cubes. It was working fine last summer. This ice make is not on the door.

Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the icemaker stops working. If it’s making a block of ice, it may be overfilling. This could be due to a defective water valve or the icemaker itself. First, try adjusting (lowering) the water fill. I’m attaching a picture with instructions to make this adjustment. If it still overfills, the water valve # 5221JB1004A will probably need to be replaced. It’s possible the icemaker could still be the problem and be keeping the water valve energized too long but it’s not as likely. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

Thanks Barbara H for you comment, but I need to know if I have to replace whole icemaker or no. Also if it is something I can do myself.

Dealing with a block of ice would not be pleasant. The expert will review this model to provide specific information for your ice maker, but I did locate a similar question with more general information that may help. I attached to the link below. I hope this helps.
